Often a shared hosting account or even a reseller account is not enough. Shared hosting has it's place, and for the most part is exactly what people want and need. However, dedicated server hosting has several advantages:
- Once you get to mega data and bandwidth requirements, purchasing multiple accounts can become expensive.
- Shared hosting means you are sharing the server with many others. If one site causes an overload or a crash, your site is affected too.
- Because you have the server to yourself, dedicated hosting is more secure.
- If you have mission critical data, you probably don't want it on a server where others could gain access even if the possibility is only a remote one.
- On shared accounts, we setup PHP, Apache etc with the most commonly used settings. Sometimes you have applications that require special settings in the httpd.conf file or php.ini files that are not possible with shared hosting since that would adversely affect all other users. That is not the case with dedicated hosting.
- There are no limits (bandwidth, disk storage etc) other than the hard limits of your server package.
- Need more disk storage with shared hosting? Sure, pay a monthly fee per gig. On dedicated, add another hard drive and pay a once off fee only.
- Don't be fooled by cheap offers, this is NOT VPS (virtual private network) hosting. The dedicated servers we offer are 100% dedicated to you alone.

Our Dedicated servers are fully managed. That means we do just about everything. From setting up the hardware and installing the software to setting up the firewall. We do it all. You need ImageMagick installed or GD or Ioncube, or any number of other applications, no problem. We will install it and configure it at no cost. What we don't do [free of charge] is manage your website or install specific applications like Message Boards. However, for a small fee we can do that too.

Who should get a dedicated server? |

Firstly, if you are looking for bottom of the range Celeron cheapies, we are the wrong place to be. Our servers are quality based and intended for a professional market. We only use A grade server equipment and quality Data centers that are able to offer guaranteed bandwidth 24/7, top notch backup power and are peered directly to tier 1 providers. We require proof of identity on server orders. A recent high quality scanned copy of an identity document or passport is required to be emailed to our accounts dept. |
